# Overview

Leads & Pipeline is the sales opportunity workspace in Cognivo. It gives the team a shared view of every active lead, its owner, current stage, value, and next action from initial qualification through closing.

## Two ways to work

- **Kanban View** groups lead cards by pipeline stage and supports visual stage progression.
- **Table View** presents structured columns for scanning, filtering, and comparing lead data.

Both views represent the same records. Choose [Kanban](/features/leads-pipeline/kanban-view/) for workflow management and [Table View](/features/leads-pipeline/table-view/) for detailed review.

## Recommended workflow

1. [Add a lead](/features/leads-pipeline/add-lead/) with the correct contact, owner, source, pipeline, and stage.
2. Qualify the opportunity and record information that helps the next decision.
3. Move the lead when the stage's real-world condition has been met—not simply because time has passed.
4. Record calls, meetings, and other [activities](/features/leads-pipeline/activities/); use [notes](/features/leads-pipeline/notes/) for context and [files](/features/leads-pipeline/files/) for supporting material.
5. Review pipeline history to understand how and when the opportunity progressed.

## Pipelines and stages

A pipeline represents a sales process; stages represent the milestones inside it. Administrators or authorized users can use the [Pipeline & Stage Manager](/features/leads-pipeline/pipeline-stage-manager/) to match Cognivo to the team's actual sales process. Use clear stage entry criteria so reporting is consistent across owners.

## Good lead hygiene

Every active lead should have a responsible owner, an accurate stage, and a documented next action. Update the record after meaningful customer activity so the board remains a reliable forecast rather than a historical list.
