# Overview

Contacts are the individual people your team communicates with. A contact keeps identity and communication data—such as name, email, WhatsApp number, lead score, and tags—in one reusable record, together with its customer relationship and interaction context.

## What you can do

- Browse and search contacts by name or other visible information.
- Add a contact manually or import multiple contacts from an Excel file.
- Filter the list by date range, tags, or lead-score range.
- Review identity, profile, social, tag, and customer information.
- Edit an individual record as new information becomes available.

## Recommended workflow

Search the [contact list](/features/contact/contact-list/) before creating a record. If no match exists, [add a contact](/features/contact/add-contact/) or [import contacts](/features/contact/import/). Verify the WhatsApp number and associate the person with the correct customer, then use tags and lead score consistently so filters remain meaningful.

## Contacts and customers

A contact is a person; a customer is a company or organization. Several contacts can belong to the same customer. Keep person-specific details on the contact and organization-level details on the customer to avoid conflicting information.

## Next steps

Open [Contact details](/features/contact/contact-details/) to understand the complete record, or review [contact management tips](/features/contact/best-practices/) before importing a large dataset.
